How to assemble an overhead lock

Lock "Overlay type" - the optimal option for installation. To date, a huge number of types of such devices are made, they differ in price and characteristics, but have the same principle. The outline model differs from the mortise in that it will take it much less effort and your time. In addition, do not "injury" the door, but simply carry out the installation to install the lock. This design has a high level of secrecy and stability to unnecessary intervention.

Let's go to the "heart" of our design. As a rule, an overhead model includes:

Facial part (bar);
Drive lever;
Case with locking element;
Response component.

These items must be in the lock system. If you purchase it in the store - be sure to check the presence of all items. If you make a castle yourself or under the order, pay attention to all components and their condition.

We start assembling. In order to independently perform this work, you will need:

Steel plate (2.5-3 mm thick, 10 mm in diameter) - for the base;
2 plates of similar thickness, but up to 120 mm long, 22 mm wide - for linings;
Guide tube with a diameter of 10 mm turnkey.

First weld the lining to the base plate. If the work has arisen the deformation of the parts, correctly correct it. It should be noted that all flaws will be completely removed when the lock is installed on the door. Then drill 4 holes with a diameter of about 11 mm at the corners of the plates for fastening. Insert the guide tube to the base (knob to lining). At the same time, the "top" of the bevel should be located at least 12 mm from the base itself. Then weld the tube to the plate. Insert the valve in the lining in the middle and gently attach. It should be screwed into the desired holes for the screw M4 (length of about 8 mm, with a semicircular head). Under the heads necessarily impose the washers on the springs in order to limit the movement of the valve movement. After you independently assembled the castle, you need to fit it in size. The key can also be done with your own hands using a steel bar with a diameter of 8 mm and about 150 mm long. Bend it from one side of 60 degrees and on the other, perform propyl (you can "Bulgarian"). Remember the final form. Perpendicular to the spookila place Make a hole under the heel. From the plate with a thickness of 2 mm, drink a "beard" for a key, make a hole in it and try to insert it into the knocked key so that the spaces coincided. At the same time, the "beard" should be not tight, but freely turn on the heel. Do not forget to fit the key to the valve, because without this design will not work.

After all the elements of the overhead lock are assembled, boldly proceed to its installation. To do this, you can use both the services of the wizard and do it yourself. To perform this job, you need to cut the holes in the door drill the desired. After that, you need to insert a cylinder into a drunk connector (face side). Do not forget: the plate must lie in such a way that the distance over it and the cylinder rod was at least 12 mm. Extraly remove with a knife. Now the plate should be attached to the cylinder. Using the electric drill, fasten the design. To free the valves, you need to click on the button of the invoice lock. Then insert the lock case into the base and scout it using small screws. Move the valve to "closed" mode, then press the door tightly and outline the right faces. To install the plate of the lockable case, work strictly by the details of the lines. In the end, processed the place of installation by the chisel and remove everything too much. So, your "overhead type" lock is installed. Be sure to check several times its performance!
