How to print text

Printing text - one of the basic components of not only any office work, but also many other areas of activity involving work with PC. Naturally, this skill must be in the arsenal of skills even a novice computer user. In this article we will deal in detail with the basics and all nuances of printing text documents.

1
First of all, you must make sure that the necessary equipment is properly connected and configured:

  • The printing device (printer, MFP) is connected to the network and a computer, is in the on state, and a sufficient amount is loaded into the paper feed tray.
  • The computer recognizes the connected printing device. You can check this through the "Device Manager" menu in the properties of my computer or in the "Printers and Faxes" section on the control panel. Otherwise it is necessary install on the driver's PC for this printer (from the disk, if any, or download on the Internet). Some models of printers, such as HP LaserJet, automatically install the necessary drivers to a computer when you first connect.

2
Making sure that all the equipment is connected and fully prepared for printing, it remains only to give the appropriate command using software. The most common program for working with text is Microsoft Office Word.. In the last of its release menu, the print menu remains almost unchanged, as for the settings available in it. Consider printing a document on the example of Microsoft Office Word 2007. In the "File" menu - "Print" are 3 main tools:

  • "Print" - an extended menu of manual adjustment of various print parameters;
  • "Fast printing" - the document is fed to one click with the standard settings: all pages, one page on the sheet, one copy of each page, use the default printer;
  • "Preview" - viewing a document for better assessment of text layout before printing.

3
Let's challenge more with all the available settings in the Manual Print Setup window ("File" - "Print" - "Print" or Ctrl + P on the keyboard):

  • Select printer for printing and configuring parameters available for it (print quality, paper type, etc.).
  • Setting up pages for printing: everything currently on which the cursor is located), the dedicated fragment (if it was selected before), the number (you can specify the range and through the comma, for example, "1-3, 5, 7-8") .
  • The number of copies of each page (default 1).
  • Scale: The number of pages on the sheet and the size of the sheet itself for printing.
  • The print mode of only even or odd pages will also be useful, especially when two-sided printing is selected. In this case, the entire range of odd pages is first printed, then the printed sheets are fed to the printer with the other side, and even pages continue.

4
If you use the Windows Notepad application in the Windows operating system to work with the text, then to start printing, you need to go to the "File" menu on the top panel and click "Print ..." or use all the same Ctrl key combination + P. Note that the "fast printing" functions in this application are not provided. Here, among customizable parameters, there is only a range of pages, the number of copies and the selection of the printer. After pressing the "Print" button, the printer will work.

Thus, printing the text is very simple, and having learned the principles of settings described above, you will easily cope with a variety of print tasks not only text, but also other files.
