Firewall configuration in the Windows family environment is a simple operation available to any advanced user. From version to the version of the OS, it is mostly changing, only a way to access the firewall settings. The setting is divided into several simple stages and levels.

Get access to the Firewall settings. Click the "Start" button, on the right, select the "Control Panel" item on the right, after which the appropriate window appears.

On the left side of the window there will be references to various options, with the right - the state of the firewall at the moment. The inclusion of firewall. Select in the menu on the left side of the window "Enable and disable Windows Firewall", and we fall into a new window. It is proposed to enable or disable it for various types of networks. It is best to have it included at a minimum for public networks. A check mark on notifications is better to put, a tick on the blocking of the incoming also should be left, if you do not use frequently remote access to this computer. By selecting the desired options, click "OK" and return to the main window.

If you want to allow the connection to the installed program, then select the item in the menu "Allow the launch of a program or component via Windows Firewall", find the program in the list, click the "Change Parameters" button and install it in front of it. If the program is used only in a specific type of network, then you can set the appropriate limitations. Upon completion of the operation, click "OK".

If the desired program is not found in the list, click "Allow another program", and get into the list of programs that have already set up firewall rules. Find the right program, we press "Add" button and return to step 4.

If the program is not in this list, it is possible, then it does not require installation and is portable. In step 5, select the "Browse" button, which is located under the list, and manually find the path to the desired file. You can select and labels.

If necessary, create more complex firewall rules in step 4, select the item "Advanced Settings" and get into the settings window. Listed here are all the rules, active and inactive, for inbound and outbound connections. On the right side are the available actions.
