Linux is a set of free and attractive accessibility of open source operating systems, tempting the alternative to Windows. However, some users are not ready to make a risky choice and step into the unknown. That is why the developers * NIX have created the ability to run the operating system without installation. With it, you will get acquainted with an unfamiliar work environment, appreciate it and decide whether it is worth attention.
One of the simplest and "benevolent" to the inexperienced user of the Linux family is Ubuntu. To look at its functionality and deal with the possibilities, first create a boot disk (Live CD). For this download the image of Ubuntu from the official Russian-speaking site, Install the recording program - for example, Infrarecorderrun it. The CD-ROM should contain a disk corresponding to the sizes of the downloaded OS image. In the infrarerarder, select the image and press the "Write Image" button. The process will end, we will get a working LiveCD Ubuntu. So after the rebut, the computer boot from LiveCD, and not from the hard drive, you need to fix something in the BIOS. The total sequence of actions is as follows:- before starting the current OS, carefully look at the bottom of the screen, where the inscription should appear, like "Press \u003ckey name\u003e to Enter Setup";
- click the desired button, we fall into the text menu, we find the Boot Device Priority string in it;
- we go into the ENTER submenu and specify "1st Device" - CD drive;
- we save changes (button F10), we leave and reboot again.
If your computer does not have a CD drive, Linux is easily started from a flash drive, an absolutely similar way. Among other things, LiveCD is convenient to use for PC testing by writing the necessary programs to disk.
