How to increase ground clearance

According to the apocryphah phrase, the roads are our second problem (after fools). For the car, this problem remains the main one. High-quality road clearance is a guarantor of safe and reliable ride. You can improve the clearance of the car with your own hands.

To begin with, you will need to purchase a set of auto parts for lifting your brand machine. It includes coppers made of aluminum alloy attaching on the front suspension, as well as special rubber pads and brackets for the rear suspension.

Discover the front racks. Using the screeds, remove the springs by pulling their upper cups. Unscrew the native bolts that fasten the racks, as they are less than required. Bolts are more authentic in one set with drawers. Place them instead of short and re-assemble the rack, not forgetting to clarify the central nut, weakened when removing.

Tightly secure the backup to the collected rack. When needed, process the empty to the file. Place the copies with racks for your previous place. When the body is properly installed, it should rise by 18-20 mm.

Using the jack, raise the car. Removing the rear seat, loosen the main shelves. Remove and disassemble the rack. If the shock absorbers together with springs are on the beam, then you should unscrew the lower part of the shock absorbers in order to lift down the beam.

We take a rubber pillow and secure it under the top of the spring. Make the bottom of the shock absorber longer, securing the bracket on it. In case the rear rack is assembled, it will only be enough to build a rubber pillow.

Mount the rack to your former place or strengthen the shock absorber to the beam. It remains only to twist weakened nuts and put back the back seat of the car. As a result, the rear suspension should be higher by 30-50 mm, depending on the wear of the rear racks, and it is consequently the thickness of the rubber pillow.

When driving, remember that the center of gravity of the car will be slightly lifted. This can cause an increase in rolling with sharp turns.

Clearance is definitely very important. But during the operation of the car, it is impossible to forget about the traffic rules or about neat driving. Good luck to you!
