How to connect two computers to the Internet

Not only in office and industrial premises, but at home there is a need to simultaneously connect two and more personal computers to the Internet. To implement such a connection there are several ways - using a router or a network card.

The router is a special device intended for permanent connection to the Internet provider and distribution of Internet traffic between connected devices. When choosing a router, it is necessary to solve how many computers and other devices will be connected to the Internet, and how this connection will be implemented.

For domestic use, such types of routers are currently used:

a router with one network connector that is suitable for connecting one computer or several using additional equipment, which is not always appropriate financially;
a router that has several network connectors suitable for connecting multiple computers to the Internet by means of a wired connection;
the router with one network connector and Wi-Fi interface is used mainly to organize only Wi-Fi networks;
the router having several network connectors and Wi-Fi interface is the most versatile option, but also the most expensive.

To connect a computer to the Internet with a router:

connect the router to the PC using the power cord, turn on the router into the outlet;
open the browser and enter the router IP address in the search string, you can find out from the instructions for the router, usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1;
enter the username and password of the administrator to the router (most often it is admin / admin, you can later change them in the settings menu);
following the instructions of the instructions for the router, configure the connection to the provider using the login, password, as well as the additional data provided by the provider;
if necessary, configure the password to connect to Wi-Fi wireless network.

To connect two computers using a PCI or PCI-E-network card without using a router, follow these steps:

connect an additional network card to one of the computers, install the drivers on it in the operating system to get on one of the computers 2 network entry;
in one of these inputs, connect the cord from the provider, configure the VPN connection to the properties of the network connections using the login, password, the possible additional data provided by the provider;

in the network connection between the two PCs manually, write the IP addresses using the range from 1.1.1.1 to 255.255.255.255, usually - 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.101;
in the network settings of the computer to which the Internet is connected from the provider, select the mouse with both network connections, right-click and select «Create Most »;

The main disadvantage of connecting two PCs using an additional network card is that when the first computer is turned off, there will be no internet and on the second.
