When performing some programs, the size of virtual memory is insufficient. The computer's virtual memory folds from the RAM plus the paging file. All manipulations with virtual memory, the creation of the RAM paging file automatically performs. The user can affect this process by changing its location and size.

Replacing the size of virtual memory (swap file), you must follow the following rules:
do not post it on the disc section where the operating system is worth using another, less loaded section;
distribute to the file paging place, one and a half times higher than RAM. For example, the memory of 2 GB, it means that the paging file set 3000 MB.

Click the Start button - the "Main Menu" opens. In it, click on the "Computer" line with the right mouse button. A new menu will open, select "Properties" in it.

Open in the "System" window subparagraph "Advanced system parameters". You can perform this in a different way: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "System".

The "System Properties" window is open. Now on the Advanced tab, open "Parameters" in the "Speed" section.

In the open "Performance Parameters" window, go to the "Advanced" tab. Click the Edit button in the "Virtual Memory" section.

In the window that opens, we introduce all the necessary changes. From the "Automatically choosing a paging file", remove the checkbox. Choose the drive, the least loaded. Put the switch to the "Specite Size" item, change its maximum and source size for the paging file. You can set the parameters that you need, not forgetting that the source file size should be more RAM on one and a half or twice. Click the "Set" button.

On all other disks, you can now disable the ability to create a paging file. Go to each hard disk volume alternately and place the switch to the "without paging file", then click the Set button. To make changes to work - restart your computer.
In the case of alerts that have appeared about the lack of virtual memory, add the swap file specified by the default system. The maximum and minimum sizes of the paging file may be the same or minimum size - more RAM is one and a half times, maximum - in two. Never delete or disable paging file.
