How to check the laptop for viruses

To check the laptop for viruses, a special program is used, which is not a full antivirus protection of the computer device, but only scans it for the presence of viruses and, in case of detection, cures it. There are a lot of similar programs, and which one is used - everyone decides for himself. However, the most common is the free Drweb Cureit application. The sequence of checking the laptop for viruses is as follows.

Download from the Internet Drweb Cureit or any other analogue of the program by saving files on a hard drive, and conduct the installation process. Close all the programs that are currently being implemented.

Launch Cureit. Select the scope. The more items marked, the more complete the check will be, but the duration of the process will increase. By default, only the key files of Windows and the processes uploaded in RAM are scanned. But viruses may well be in the user's personal files, so the more fully the check will be, the better it will be.

Wait for the end of the check and see the results. If the virus is found, the program will ask what to do with an infected file - cure, put in quarantine or delete:

"Cure" - the program deleys the virus code from the file, while with the file you can fully work further;
"Place in quarantine" -if the program for some reason cannot cure the file, but the contents of the file are important for you-it can be placed in quarantine, in this case, automatic access to this file will be blocked in the future;
"Delete" -If it is impossible to cure the file and if there is no important and unique information in it, it can simply be removed from the laptop.

Virus infection is much easier to prevent by using an effective antivirus program than to treat post -facts, losing important information. Therefore, it is quite advisable to choose a high -quality program to combat viruses and install it as early as possible.
