How to raise voltage in the car

In the car's device, the transformation of the mechanical energy of the motion of the crankshaft into electrical is occurring using the generator. With its malfunction, the voltage drops, and this affects the operation of electrical equipment, recharging the battery, at the starter power and engine functioning. To resume the operation of the generator, you will need:

  • multimeter or automobile ampervoltomethmeter;
  • wrenches with different sizes of the hole;
  • electronic tachometer.

1
First of all, drag the engine and disconnect the battery. Using a multimeter or automobile ampervoltimeter, perform measurements of intermediate resistance on contacts, connecting pads and terminals of the main mass of the car. Measuring instruments are configured in low-resistance mode (up to 0.3 ohms).

2
Check the status of contacts, terminals, wiring connected to the generator, battery, starter, fuses, chassis and relays-regulator. If you find dirt and oxide, clean the surface. Inspect the wrench and bolted fasteners and secure the key if necessary.

3
Speak the generator belt diagnostics. To do this, click in the middle of the longest part of the transmission and attach the power no more than 5 kg. Replace the drive belt if the deviation is more than 12-15 mm.

4
Tachometer Connect to the ignition system. At this stage of measurement, do the engine with the engine turned on, setting the frequency of 2500-3000 rpm. But in advance to translate the multimeter (or ampervoltomethmeter) to a higher voltage mode within 20 volts. Then connect it to the generator power output and check the voltage. The permissible value is not more than 14.2 volts. Enable, for example, headlights or dimensions, make sure that the voltage does not fall below the value of 13 volts.

If the voltage failed to increase this way, refer to the specialists and only then draw conclusions about the suitability of the generator.
