How to set up a microphone on headphones

When buying a new device, everything is not always going smoothly. First of all, you need to listen, how the microphone sounds and what is his volume. Connect the correct input and definitions the settings will help you a simple instruction.

Connect the headphones to the computer or laptop correctly. If you have two wires connect, then the microphone will be a red nest, and for headphones - green. If the wire is one, then simply insert it into the black connector. In laptops, the headphone and microphone are usually drawn over the entrance.

In the case of professional headphones, you will need the foreseen. But such models rarely have a microphone. Therefore, if your headset still turned out to be a studio class, consult a seller or a representative of the company and check if you need an adapter.

Go to the Start - Control Panel.

Locate the line "Equipment and Sound", click on it.

You will open a new menu. Select "Sound".

In the window that appears, click on the "Record" tab. It is very important: if you did not see the connected microphone in the window, most likely the device drivers were installed. Update your audio drivers, then on the Internet, look for manually drivers for your headset model. If, after that, the device is not displayed, check the connection correctly.

Select the microphone and click "Properties".

In a new window, select "Listen", then check the box next to "listen from this device." Confirm by clicking "OK".

Now you hear yourself and can analyze the sound quality of your microphone. If everything suits you - the setting is over. If not, go to step 7.

To increase or decrease the volume of the microphone, as well as noise settings, go to the "Levels" tab. You can adjust the volume with the upper line with the slider. Bottom gain that can suppress or reduce noise, be careful when setting up this option. Confirm your choice by clicking on the "OK" button.
