Pyatigorsk is the most popular resort of the North Caucasus, according to the rightly called "natural museum of mineral waters". The city is obliged to a unique location on top of the five mountains - Mashuk, Dubrovka, Cossack, Picket and Post. The western part of Pyatigorsk is a residential and industrial, and in eastern territory there are numerous balneological hospitals, sanatoriums and relaxation sites of citizens and guests of the city. At the foot of Masheuk Mountains are sources with absolutely different in composition of mineral water. In addition, Pyatigorsk has the richest historical heritage, the study of which annually attracts thousands of tourists to the city.

The academic gallery was built in 1851 at the place of placement of windows with healing water and was the center of cultural life of the resort, the mention of which can be found in the story of Lermontov "Princess Mary". Initially, it was called Elizabethan as the park surrounding it. From the observation deck of a picturesque building, erected from Mashuksky stone, a beautiful panoramic view of Pyatigorsk and the surrounding mountain ranges offer. The gallery was renamed academic in 1925 in honor of the 200-year anniversary of the Academy of Sciences.

The most romantic and unusual place in Pyatigorsk is located on one of the accumulations of Mashuk Mashuk Arbor Ealar Harp. In antiquity there was a supervisory military post. The landmark is named in honor of the god of the winds of Eol. Juseppe architects and Giovanni Bernandacci stressed this in the original way. Not far from the Academic Gallery is the Grotto of Lermontov, with the name of which many sights of Pyatigorsk are connected. Exhibits, testifying to the richest history of the North Caucasus, are collected in the Pyatigorsk Museum, founded in 1905. The basis of the museum's exposition, which today has more than 130,000 samples, became the private collections of its founders. In the museum you can see rare archaeological finds, a unique collection of firearms and cold weapons, ancient books and manuscripts, original canvas of famous artists.

The hippodrome in Pyatigorsk is the largest of the Russian hippodrols and has the only one in Russia by a raceway, relevant to international standards, as well as a modern rate of receiving rates in the tote. The hippodrome was laid back in 1885 and was repeatedly modernized in the second half of the 20th century. There is a hippodrome near the railway station with the corresponding name of the horse.
