The navigator saved time and nerves not one hundred thousand drivers. Maximum easy-to-use device is sold with a pre-installed set of cards. But not rare cases when there is a need to establish new maps. How to do this - considered on the example of Navitel Navitel, Garmin and Autospaulous.

If you are interested in licensed maps, detailed instructions for installing them are on the official websites of each manufacturer. Then we will discuss the installation of unlicenzion cards that can be downloaded on the Internet using, for example, the OpenStreetMap resource. Note: Each navigation device works with a specific type of cards. Therefore, if you have Navitel Navigator, you need Navitel cards, and nothing else. Before you start installing cards to the navigator, it is recommended to make backup copies of data and save them on an external medium or in a computer.

For all types of navigators - download the appropriate cards to the computer.

For Navitel Navigators: Connect a navigator or flash card to a computer if the navigation program is installed on it. In the root directory of the device / card, create a folder with any name you understand, for example, Usermaps (Custom Maps). It needs to create another folder with the name of the region whose card you want to add to the navigation program - let it be Region1. Copy the cards you have previously found in the Region1 folder and disconnect the navigator / remove the flash card from the computer and insert into the device. In the navigator, activate the "Open Atlas" menu and create a new atlas (the button with the folder icon is at the bottom). Next, the window opens with the folder list. You need to find and click on the REGION1 folder, and then on the "Create Atlas" button. After the program completes the formation of a new atlas, it will appear in the list of available atlases.

For Garmin, in addition to the cards, you will also need a special MapSource program to transfer cards to the device. It can be downloaded from the manufacturer's official website in the Support - Software section. By connecting the files, first start the MSMAIN.MSI file, and then setup.exe. Archives with maps Unpack into different folders and run the setup files for each card. Connect the navigator and run MapSource. Note: If you have a Gmapsupp.img file in your navigator, rename it in, for example, gmapprom.img or any other permitted name. In the "Service" menu, "Cartographic Management" will appear the cards you will appear. Select the map you need in the View menu, "switch to the product" or from the list of cards available to the left in the upper corner of the program (pointer 1 in the photo). The card must appear in the window 3. Press the 4 button - and the map will appear in the window 2. These operations need to be repeated for all cards. To transfer cards to the navigator, press the button 5.

Much easier is the process of installing cards to the autospaulum navigator. All you need is to connect the navigator to a computer and copy files with maps to the MAPS folder.
If everything is done correctly, you can easily use new cards, and in case of an unsuccessful attempt to return the saved files and settings.
