How to remove a mirror element?

With the problem of replacing the mirror element, almost every driver faces, as the mirror can crack or crash during adverse weather conditions or accidents. Dismantling of the mirror with your own hands

To change the mirror element to a new one, first of all it is necessary to dismantle  mirror. Certain this may even begin to cope with this, the sole condition is to have a standard set of screwdrivers with it. The example shows how to remove the side mirror of the rear view, but this method can be applied to dismantling any mirror in the car.

• 1 stage - open the driver's door;
• 2 stage - pull the handle of the change of the corner of the mirror (if the handle is not removed from the grooves, then unscrew it against the clock of the arrows);
• 3 Stage - Unscrew the mounting bolts if the handle is not removed;
• 4 Stage - with a flat screwdriver, very carefully remove the plastic lining, so you will be visible fastening elements, which need to be unscrewed;
  
• 5 Stage - unscrew the bolts that responsible for the mechanism of rotation of the mirror;
• 6 Stage - Gently remove the mirror.

If you change the mirror element for the first time, then all the disassembly stages advise to photograph. Especially remember the location of multi-colored cables,  which are connected to the rotary mechanism.

Disassembling the mirror and replacing the mirror element

To get a mirror element from the housing, while without damaging it, the work is quite paintaking. Plastic latches may especially be injured, so all the steps need to perform slowly and follow clear instructions:

• 1 stage - using a conventional hair dryer a little warm the plastic latches, so the mirror element will be easier to reach (a hairdryer, use not at full power and not quite close to the mirror);
• 2 Stage - Cut the flat screwdriver colenta (especially the metal part) and check whether the screwdriver will "crawl" between the plastic base and directly the mirror element;
• 3 Stage - take a small piece of soft tissue, not very dense (terry towel is definitely not Suitable) and put it to the plastic part, where you will overtake a screwdriver;
• 4 Stage - Shoot a screwdriver for a mirror element and pull on yourself very carefully (a screwdriver serves as a certain lever);
• 5 Stage - 3 and 4 stages repeat from all sides;
• 6 Stage - After from all sides, the mirror element was released from fasteners, it can be carefully dismantled.

The new mirror element can be put, observing the stage in the reverse order.

Working with the replacement of the mirror element is very painstaking. It does not require a rush. If you fulfill all the steps and clearly act according to the instructions, there will be no problems with dismantling the mirror.
