The trunk trim of the car performs, mostly decorative function. At the same time, it hides access to many functional areas of the trunk of your car. If you need to access the latter, the trim must be removed. How to do it, this article will tell.
How to dismantle the trunk lining?
- Open the trunk. Clean, if there is a rug.
- Next dismantle the decorative lining - the trunk threshold. This will require:
- Remove 2 plastic retainers from the opposite ends of the panel.
- Next, you should neatly pull the trunk threshold up, thus removing the panel from the bracket. Depending on the car model, the threshold can be attached to four or six-stranded clips.
- Now you start dismantling the side panels.
- To remove lining, located on the left and right side of the spray, it is necessary to remove 3 clips from each of the sides, and then - pull each of the panels up.
How to dismantle the trunk lid trim?
Removal of the trunk cover can be required when, for example, the need to repair the lock or during the replacement of lamps, highlighting the license plate of the car.
- Raise the trunk lid.
- Using a thin flat screwdriver, run up and open the handle cover.
- Now armed with a cruciform screwdriver. With it, unscrew 2 screws that you will see inside the lid.
- Remove the lid.
- Now go to the dismantling of the fabric intestine.
- Using the same censual screwdriver, remove 9 screws that hold the trim. In some models of cars, the dispute removal is made by its accurate pulling out of the clip clips (after the upholstery plug is dismantled).
- If the covering is not screwed, difficulty may occur at the pullout stage of it from the pistons. You will try first slightly press the kindness, and after - to pull on yourself. An alternative option is to use something thin (for example, a knife) rod cap and slowly pull the trim. Thus, decorative design will be able to remove without damaging it.
After carrying out the necessary work, install the trim to the previous place. The installation order is the reverse sequence of the same actions as when dismantling.
