What is Yamb?

Jamb is one of the five main poems. This is a double size with an emphasis on the second syllable.

Difference of Yamba from Khorora

One foot in the jamb, as well as in the roaster, consists of two syllables. The difference lies only in the stress. If the emphasis drops into the first syllable in each foot, then in the jamb, the emphasis always falls on the second syllable. The emphasis in the jamb alternates in the following order - an unstressed syllable, shock syllable, unstressed, shock and so on. That is, the emphasis always falls on even syllables.

Three-resistant jamb

Three-resistant yamba short, simple and concise sound. Specifies a quick pace of poem, often used in humorous, satirical and aphoristic poems. Simplicity and clarity, the laconicity of the forms is characteristic of a three-level Yamba.

Four-stranded jamb

A four-stranded yam is usually characteristic of lyrics and epic. This is one of the most popular sizes in classical Russian poetry.

Five-colored Jamb

A five-stranded yum is characteristic of lyrics and drama XIX - XX century. In Russian poetry, it is also popular as a four-stranded, and is often found in a variety of poetic works.

Sixtust Jamb

Sixtust Jamb wrote the poems and drama of the XVIII century. Popped in such poets as M.V. Lomonosov, G.R. Derzhanin and other literary figures of the Epoch of Enlightenment.

Free Multiple Jamb

Used in the wells of the XVIII - XIX century and the comedies of the XIX century. Due to the different length of the lines, free Yaks gives talkative, which is characteristic of the Basen.

Yamb is the most frequently used size in Russian verses. Jamb gives an energetic, sometimes solemn sound poem.
