What to see in Sochi

Sochi is not only the largest resort town of Russia, located on the northeast coast of the Black Sea, but also an important transport assembly, a major economic and cultural center of the Black Sea coast of Russia.

The city of Sochi was originally called the Fort of Alexandria. The status of the city was assigned in 1917. Since 1937, Sochi became part of the Krasnodar Territory. And since 1993, Sochi acquired the status of the resort of federal significance.

Lookout Tower on Mount Ahun in Sochi

Mount Akhun is the highest mountain of the coastal part of Bolshoi Sochi, towers over the rivers of Matsesta and Host. 33 waterfalls in Sochi

Caucasian State Natural Biosphere Reserve named after H.G. Shaposhnikova

The largest in the territory and the oldest specially protected natural territory in the West Caucasus. Located within three constituent entities of the Russian Federation - Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Adygea and Karachay-Cherkess Republic. The reserve has more than 25 rare animal species listed in the Red Book of Russia. For tourists on the territory of the reserve, an adventure rope fleet on the trees at a height of 1 to 6 meters is equipped.
