The women's headdress in the form of Chalms was very popular in the 20s of the last century. The turban was sewed from velvet and silk and decorated with expensive stones. Chalma is again at the peak of popularity, but the materials for its manufacture are used simpler. Try to tie the original cap on your own on your own.
How to tie a chalm - choose the needles and yarn
When choosing spokes and threads, consider the following:
- for the winter hats, choose bulk wool. You can take woolen thin threads with the addition of silk. A pleasant brilliance will remind the eastern origin of the Türban;
- for Chalms on the Autumn-Spring Season, buy yarn from cotton. Prefer threads with natural composition and knit the turban in the openwork pattern so that it is not hot;
- choose the needles on the recommendation of the yarn manufacturer. On the label yarn there is a necessary information. Warm turban preferably knit on circular spokes. For thick threads take the knitting needles at number five.
Knit Chalmu Ruban
The main pattern will be gum 4x4. Prepare 200 g yarn and needles. We proceed to knitting caps:
- measure the girth of the head through the top of one ear to another;
- divide the resulting number in half and calculate the number of loops. It will be the width of the cap. Typically, the width of the turban is from 18 to 25 cm;
- you dial the calculated amount of loops on the knitting needles. Do not forget about 2 edge loops;
- knit elastic 4x4 scarf 80-100 cm long with a necessary width;
- synodize during Knitting Chalma so that it is adjacent to the head tightly;
- close the loops, tied to the required length.
Form the Türban product. Connect the edges of the resulting scarf ring, twisting so that the ends are on the top and switched to the head. On the back of the head, secure them with a needle with a thread or knitting hook. On the painter, connect the ends of the product with a seam using the hook. Complete the headdress of the beautiful brook and boldly go out into it into the street.
Knit Chalmu with a beautiful pattern
You dial the number of loops, multiple six, so that the strip width was 10 cm. Add one loop for symmetry of the pattern. Start knitting a relief pattern:
- 1 row - alternation of one invented loop with two facial;
- 2 row and all the invalid rows - knit in the drawing;
- 3 row - check one wrong. The two next hinges knit like this: the second take over the back wall, but you do not shoot the knitting needles. The first loop is in front of the front and remove it;
- repeat the pattern with 3 rows and check 4-5 cm;

- knit without adding 5-6 rows and proceed to the uniform reduction of the loops. Check them on 2 together.

Knit chalm-dressing
This is the easiest option to create a hat. You bind her quickly. From thin threads, knit two-layer dressing. We measure the girth of the head, and determine the product width. The wider - the most beautiful and warm. Use circular needles. Knish the bandage in a circle as the sleeve, any pattern. An interesting option is a pearl nipple or facial smooth. Loops do not add.
